A predominant Curtain wall and window wall manufacturer and installer based in South Florida is seeking an experienced Estimator.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for preparing and coordinating comprehensive and detailed estimates on large and complex projects as
dictated by client’s documents; end-product will be a complete conceptual and total bid price.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Reviews and evaluates requests for estimates.
- Prepares weekly bid calendar and ensures timely completion of estimates.
- Reviews estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy.
- Creates job folders.
- Reviews construction documents and understands scope of work to bid.
- Executes take-offs of construction documents.
- Inputs take-offs into computer spreadsheet.
- Obtains pricing for materials.
- Obtains bids from subcontractors.
- Prepares cost analysis in computer by recapitulating material, labor, equipment, subcontractor and overhead costs incurred in the installation of items.
- Where predetermined standard(s) are not available, makes an estimate.
- Informs immediate supervisor of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or computer database.
- Develops and maintains resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, ATTRIBUTES
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business or related area.
Eight plus years of estimating experience may be substituted for degree (s).
Experience:
Minimum 5+ years of related experience in estimating.
Knowledge of estimating curtain wall, windows and other glazing products.
Computer Skills:
Possess a proficiency in using a personal computer and related software including Autocad and Adobe suite of
products, Microsoft Office and the Internet.
Possess interpersonal and communication skills such as:
- Proven educational or administrative experience in solving problems for individuals or teams.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Organization and project management skills.
- Strong work ethic, timely and accurately organizes, prioritizes, plans and completes all job responsibilities.
- Proven track record of handling and organizing multiple projects with timely completions.

- Ability to positively interact with all employees and work in a team environment.
