• Analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals and other documentation to form a "takeoff" and assesses time, cost and labor estimates for all phases of a project

• Consult with clients, vendors or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and prepare formal customer quotations

• Coordination with Sales staff and Project Management staff to ensure the successful completion of the project and total customer satisfaction

Analyzes construction documents to assist in preparing accurate quantity, cost and labor estimates for mid to large contract glazing projects throughout the country.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Prepares an accurate estimate package for Harmon salesperson to execute a successful spreadsheet and proposal for the Harmon customer base.

Analyzes blueprints or PDF files of architectural drawings, and specifications for scope supplied and executed by Harmon.

Prepares accurate quantity takeoffs of materials on projects ranging in size from $2.0 million to $20.0 million in contract value.

Analyzes specifications and identifies appropriate vendors to execute the work. Requests for Proposals (RFP’s) to our vendors are a large part of this estimator’s workload. Analyzes responses from vendors to vette and confirm that proposals accurately reflect the Harmon RFP request.

Prepares initial estimating spreadsheets for Harmon sales team.

Works closely with Harmon sales to accurately scope the project initially, and then review the project at the completion stage of the estimate.

Closely follows Harmon processes for compliance on every estimate.

Maintains price books and product library.

Maintains effective relationships with vendors.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employee of organization. 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

TECHNICAL SKILLS
